Bangalore, Oct 19: The department of police has decided to conduct the departmental examination held for the posts of the sub-inspectors on Sunday October 11 afresh, as allegedly, the question papers of the examination had been leaked in advance. Through a release, the department said that it has decided to hold a re-examination to uphold the credibility of the government and the department and with a view to remove suspicions and apprehensions in the minds of the eligible candidates. It said that the fresh dates will be intimated later through the media and the website, www.ksp.gov.in.
It is said that a constable working in the office of the director general and inspector general of police here, got access to the question paper in advance. Reportedly, he obtained assistance from a PhD student from the city, by wrongly claiming that it was a model question paper. When the concerned complained to the policemen about the question paper leakage, upon realizing after the examination was held, that what was shown to him was the original question paper and not a model as claimed, he reportedly received a threatening call from a landline in the city, threatening to eliminate him, if he divulges to others that the question paper had been leaked.
It is said that the policemen were reluctant initially, to register this complaint and provided the first information report after five days of receipt of the complaint. However, the policemen claim that there has so far been no evidence or proof about the fact that the said question paper had been leaked.
