Kuwait, Feb 5: In a turn of events, the much-awaited mega Konkani musical show directed by Fidelis Fernandes, scheduled to take place in Kuwait on February 21, 2020, at Khaldiya University auditorium, has been postponed due to unavoidable circumstances – mainly arising from the coronavirus threats.
The next date has been set on October 9, 2020, and the venue will be announced later.
The recent outbreak of coronavirus has affected many people around the globe, Kuwait Immigration is carefully monitoring the developments.
The spread of the virus is unpredictable and many have expressed concerns regarding some forthcoming events, associated travel risks and concerns.
"We need to exercise social responsibility in the best interests of everyone," disclosed Fidelis on the postponement of the show.
In view of Kuwait’s National and Liberation Day celebrations later this month, where the Kuwaiti locals have mass celebrations through the week, the organizers have taken cognizance of all factors to come to an affable decision.
The GOA Maroons organized musical show, first time in 4K on Konkani stage, boasted a galaxy of stars with Mangalorean superstar Ester Noronha as one of its major attractions.
Star artistes from Goa and elsewhere consisted of Goa’s global superstar Sanio Fernandes, Everleigh Mascarenhas, Slenzitta D’Cruz, Elaine Pinto, Frenzie Vito Rodrigues, Fernandes, Stacey Mesquita and Sheena Gracias, apart from a select cast of local artistes.
Music for the show was being arranged by internationally famed Maestro Joaquim D’Souza, NolvertCota (Trumpet), Theo Alvares (Saxophone), and Jack Rebello (Drums) along with Kuwait’s magical maestro – Shahu Almeida, bass guitarist Dennis Gonsalves, Johnny Fernandes (Rhythms).
A special 4K stage sets were specially brought in for the show from abroad by Celebrate Entertainment’s Cheslee D’Souza.
Apologies from director, organisers
In a statement released by director Fidelis Fernandes and GOA Maroons president Derick Gomindes, the organizers regret any inconvenience caused to the audience and have conveyed profound apologies to the artistes and musicians from Goa, UAE, London and Kuwait and to the chief guest and other dignitaries who were expected to visit Kuwait for the show.
