Beltangady: Vimukti Social Work Cell Celebrates Deepavali to Promote Harmony, Universal Brotherhood

Beltangady, Oct 18: Deepavali, the festival of lights was celebrated with pomp and glory, by Vimukti Social Work cell run by the Capuchin fathers at Ujire Circle, here on Saturday October 17 at 6.00 pm. 
 
Fr Ferdinand Gonsalves, parish priest of St Antony church, Ujire and Vijay Raghav Padvetnaya, president of Sri Janardhana temple, Ujire, here inaugurated the programme.

Fr Ferdinand and Vijay Raghav gave inspiring speeches and applauded the bold step that was taken by Vimukti Social Work cell. They urged the people to maintain religious harmony and universal brotherhood, the message of Deepavali to all mankind. 
 
Vimukti director Fr Vinod Mascarenhas delivered an inspiring speech informing about the purpose of the celebration. Zafar Sha Adhi from nearby mosque appreciated Vimukti for the inter-religious dialogue initiated by them. 
 
People from all walks of life and leaders of various communities were present at the programme. 
 
Vimukti also staged a mini-musical extravaganza, in order to mark the Deepavali celebrations, which was concluded with colourful display of firecrackers.

    Vimukti,great job.Being hailing from Belthangady Taluk,I am very much pleased to read about the function on the eve of Deepavali is highly appriciable.To promote Harmony and universal brotherhood is need of hour.Pls keep going.
