Mumbai, Feb 2: Earlier on Saturday, BMC razed 10 old structures around Banganga Talao (tank) at Walkeshwar to improve the condition of the heritage precinct. As per the civic officials in the place of demolished structures, a road with basalt will be constructed to give the place a heritage look.

Local ward officer Prashant Gaikwad said, "We will beautify the area around Bangana in the next four months, and restore its heritage look. It is a grade I heritage precinct."

While the BMC is improving the area surrounding the tank, the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) is repairing the tank and has completed 50% of the work.
