Udupi, Oct 14: President of the Railway Yatri Sangh here, R L Dias, has informed that Konkan Railway Corporation’s chief operations manager, K L Deekshit, has informed that steps are being taken to extend the Mumbai CST - Karwar super fast train till Mangalore.
Presently, the train that leaves Mumbai on Wednesdays and Saturdays, reaches Karwar the next day at 1.30 pm. It starts its return journey the same day at 3.30 pm.
The Railways had been approached with a request to extend the train up to Mangalore. At present, the train runs as a special train. In a letter, Konkan Railway Corporation has said that the train will be converted as a permanent train soon and that at that time, it will be extended up to Mangalore, Dias explained.
