Sullia: Sheni Award to be Conferred on Dr M Prabhakar Joshi

Sullia, Oct 11: Dr M Prabhakar Joshi, renowned name in Yakshagana field will be conferred Sheni Award on Saturday October 17.

Joshi will be presented the award at Dr Kilaru Gopalakrishnaiah Commemoration programme and Sampaje Yakshotsava organized by Sampaje Dr Kilaru Gopalakrishnaiah Pratishtana on Kallugundi School premises here at 2.30 pm. Sri Raghaveshwara Bharati Swamiji of Ramachandrapura Mutt will preside, while Sri Vishweshateertha Swamiji of Pejawar Mutt will bless the occasion. Sri Vidyaprasannateertha Swamiji of Subrahmanya Mutt will be present.

State Yakshagana Academy president Kumble Sunder Rao will release the second publication of the pratishtana, PartisubbanaYakshaganagalu, a book on Yakshagana authored by late Kukkila Krishna Bhat. Vedamurthy Unchageri Subrahmanya Shastri and state awardee Yakshagana artiste K Govinda Bhat will be honoured and Yakshgana Bhagvat Padyana ganapati Bhat will be felicitated.
