Mangalore, Oct 11: Ten girls and five men were arrested from a hotel near Balmatta for their alleged involvement in prostitution on Saturday October 10.
The arrested girls are from North India and Kerala. The men include the manager of the hotel and a broker. Police said that Hotel Siddartha is where the illegal activity took place.
The arrests were made after an operation by Amit Singh, assistant superintendent of police, who sent a man posing as a customer to the hotel along with his team, following a tip-off.
The arrested people were brought to Mangalore north police station and inspector Vinaya Gaonkar is investigating the case.
This is despicable that people are stooping so low to make money. THey should be arrested and such hotels should be closed down.
UR Shenoy was my teacher in Canara high school too.UR Shenoy and Sons book store is actually on the ground floor of the building where the raid happened. Poor teacher will be turning in his grave on the deeds of his son Ganesh Shenoy.
This hotel is owned by Ganesh Shenoy, son of UR Shenoy who was my teacher in Canara high school. UR Shenoy was a nice kind hearted noble man who had high ideals.Very sad to see his son being involved in such criminal activities. I hope police takes strict action and my loving city of Mangalore goes back to its nice and clean ways as it was all these years of my life spent here.
