Abu Dhabi, Jan 28: Mangalore Cup 2020 (Season-8) over arm cricket tournament, Throwball match and several competitions will be held under the auspices of the MCC (Mangalorean Cricket Club) at Sheikh Zayed International Cricket stadium, on February 28.
Mangalorean Cricket Club Abu Dhabi (Regd) is one of the leading and most prestigious clubs in UAE. It is led by the eminent Mangalurean personalities Ronald Pinto Hysna international and Walter Almeda Regal. Its principal aim is to provide platform for Mangalurean business community to gather under one umbrella. It reinforces the bond of native cultural and traditional values. It also provide international exposure to Kannadiga NRI young cricketers, which will nurture and develop their sporting skills. MCC Mangalore festival strengthens friendship and to bridge the gap between cultures and communities. This tournament will be exclusively for Indian players. Audience will witness Steps & Strings Dancespiration – 2020, UAE’s biggest dance contest (Group & Solo). Also family entertainment, kids’ activities, ladies mehendi competition will make this season enthralling. It will attract sports and dance lovers to the International stadium.
MCC president Lathif KH informed the media, “This is our eight consecutive year of MCC tournaments. It is getting bigger and better by years, event at international cricket stadium will be attracting thousands of sports lovers. We have received immense support from cricket lovers and Kannadigas of United Arab Emirates for the last 7 seasons, like last season we are expecting more teams and 10,000
spectators.”
Many delegates, Mangalurean entrepreneurs, legendary cricket players will be participating in the opening and prize distribution ceremony. Entertainment and lucky draw prizes will be given to spectators. Cash prize and Trophy will be given in following categories: Man of the series, best batsman, best bowler, best keeper, best fielder, best all-rounder, and best catcher. Man of the match in the final. Man of match in every league. All together winners will take away price worth 25,000 AED.
