Karkala: Abbanadka Friends Club celebrates 150th birth anniversary of poet Muddana

Karkala, Jan 24: Nandalike Abbanadka Durgaparameshwari Friends Club, Kannada Sahitya Parishad unit, JCI Belman and youth Jaycee division celebrated 150th birth anniversary of yesteryear poet Muddana in club office on Friday, January 24.

Belman JCI president Indaru Satyanarayana Bhat garlanded the picture of the poet and offered flowers.

Belman unit Kannada Sahitya Parishat unit president Abbanadka Sandeep Poojary said that Muddana is a great poet that was born on Nandalike soil and made name on national level. “Though he lived only for 32 years, he gave works like Ramashwamedha, Rama Pattabhisheka, Adbhuta Ramayana, Mahakavyagalu, Ratnavati Kalyana, Kumara Vijaya and Yakshagana plays to Saraswath community,” he said.

Belman hobli Kannada Sahitya Parishat office bearers Nandalike Rajesh Kotian, Prashanth Poojary, Harish Poojary Golikatte, Belman Yuvajaycee division president Sandeep Kulal, friend’s club joint secretary Sandhya Shetty, ladies organizing secretary Veena Poojary, Sulochana Kotian, Pushpa Kulal, Harinakshi Poojary and others were present.
