Moodbidri, Oct 6: Sunil H G Byndoor, a talented first year BBM student of Bhandarkar’s College, Kundapur, has been selected to chair the ‘14th Coastal Students’ Literary Summit’.
This was announced by organizer Shekar Ajekar during the meeting of the selection committee which was presided over by Prof Upendra Somayaji.
Sunil is a native of Taggarse in Byndoor of Kundapur taluk, where the late Kannada scholar and litterateur Dr Shivaram Karanth was also born. The summit is organized in memory of Dr Karanth.
Sunil is a promising litterateur, and pens poetry, limericks, and articles which are published in leading Kannada dailies, weeklies, and journals.
He has been a freelancer for ‘Karavali Dhwani’, a journal published from Kundapur, for over a year.
Sunil has been contributing to leading Kannada dailies since he was studying for his SSLC. His hobbies include collecting stamps and photography. He also secured high marks in both SSLC and PUC.
Sunil has participated in the programmes of the Indian UNESCO Club–Kannada culture department. He has won prizes in the competitions organized by Mangala Kala Sahitya Vedike and his poetry will be published in November.
He is the son of Ganesh Hosanagar and Sulochana.
