Mumbai, Jan 20: Kalajagathu Mumbai held a two=day long Global Tulu Conference at Kandivli Poisar here in the morning of January 18. Veteran author, Dr Sunita M Shetty presided over the conference.
North Mumbai Lok Sabha MP Gopal C Shetty hoisted the flag. Global Bunts Federation president, Aikala Harish Shetty pulled the Tulu chariot. Bunts Sangha Mumbai president Padmanabha S Payyade symbolically set the conference in motion. Ravindra S Shanti conducted puja.
Mogaveera Vyavastapaka Mandali Mumbai president Krishnakumar L Bangera, Billavara Association Mumbai president Chandrashekar S Poojary, Pune Bantara Sangha president Santhosh Shetty Inna Kurkilbettu, Usha Gopal Shetty, social worker Shameena Alva Mulki, Narayana Shetty Pune, Vastu expert Ashok Purohit, film actor Jaya Shetty, entrepreneur Manmath Shetty Dahisar, Ermal Vishwanath Shetty, Dr Raviraj Suvarna were guests of honour. They set in motion exhibition, traditional games and other programmes.
Bombayid Tulunad samithi president Ermal Harish Shetty, convener Shama N Shetty, Kalajagathu Mumbai president Dr Thonse Vijayakumar Shetty, president Dr Surendra Kumar Hegde, vice president Prabhakar Shetty, secretary Krishnaraj Suvarna, joint secretary Chandravati Devadiga, Lathesh M Poojary, treasurer Jagadish Rao, joint treasurer N Prathwiraj Mundkoor, Ashok Shetty Pangala and Gangadhar J Poojary were on the dais. Jaya Prakash Poojary, Purandara Shetty, Mundappa S Payyade were felicitated.
Thonse Vijayakumar Shetty welcomed and introduced the guests. Navin Shetty Yedkemar and Surendra Kumar Hegde compered the programme. A poetry conference was held in the afternoon presided over by author Shimanthoor Chandrahasa Suvarna. Several Tulu poets presented their poems. Several cultural programmes added glamour. Guests and Tulu Kannadigas were present in large numbers.
Singing competition, musical item from Prapthi Shetty and party, Srilatha Balaga, Kajal Kunder and party, dances by Priyanjali Rao and party, Tulu Janapada dances by Laxmi Devadiga, cultural programme from Panvel artistes and music by Shailaja A Shetty and Vijay Shetty Mira Road were part of the programme.
Tulu dramas Manni and Moksha directed by Lathesh M Poojary and Dr Thonse Vijayakumar Shetty were shown.
