Mangalore, Oct 4: Thieves on Saturday October 3 late night entered Rajarajeshwari Siddivinayaka Temple in Kuttar, Ullal here and made way with Rs 1.20 lac worth assets from the temple.
The thieves, who broke into the temple by breaking open the main door latch of the temple, took away gold chain weighing seven sovereigns from the main idol and silver paraphernalia weighing half a kilogram from the sanctum sanctorum. The thieves also made good with approximately Rs 35,000 in cash by breaking open the two steel boxes that had cash offerings from the devotees.
Police visited the spot. Sniffer dog squad and finger print experts were pressed into service. Ullal polive have registered a case.
