Mumbai, Jan 13: Kannadiga Patrakartara Sangha Maharashtra held a programme at Rajyog Hotel, Bandra east on Sunday January 12 to release the sangha's 2020 directory.
Patrakartara Sangha president, Rons Bantwal presided over the programme. CA Jagadish B Shetty Surathkal, chief guest, released the directory.
“Journalists are highly respected in society. Uniting the journalists who can rectify the ups and downs and change the direction of society by their service orientation and pen is a big job. Journalists who are like the watching eyes of society are nonstop workers. Being sacrificial, their personal lives are problematic. They awaken the society and make them aware of the happenings. The media is like a mirror of society and sangha is a suitable platform to respond to them. The fifth directory has the details of daily, weekly and monthly newspapers in Maharashtra and is a valuable guide,” he said.
Chief secretary of the sangha, Ashok S Suvarna in his introduction, commended the concern towards society, hard work and far-sightedness of Kannada journalism by Rons Bantwal are valuable.
Vice-president, Ranga S Poojary, honorary chief secretary Ashok S Suvarna, honorary treasurer Nagesh Poojary Elinje, honorary secretary Ravindra Shetty Talipady, joint secretary Jayarama N Shetty were on the dais.
