Bhayandar Konkani Catholic Association Celebrates Monti Fest

Mumbai, Sep 16: Konkani Catholic Welfare Association (KCWA) of suburban Bhayandar parish celebrated Monti Fest at Our Lady of Nazareth School Hall, Bhayandar (West) here, recently.
 
KCWA made arrangements for a unique celebration of Monti Fest, while little children offered flowers to adoring statue of Infant Mary.
 


Fr Michael Morris Shenoy of Mira Road parish and Fr Agnelo Fernandes of Bhayandar parish offered Holy Mass in Konkani. Fr Agnelo blessed the new paddy sheaves and distributed to all. 

Mira Road – Bhayandar municipal corporator Gilbert John Mendonca was the chief guest of the occasion. He also cut a cake and shared it with the gathering. The traditional food was also served.
 
KCWA president George Sequeira compered the programme. Francis Lobo proposed the vote of thanks.

    Dear Joseph Disa, I understand that the people who created unrest in the name of language to get a political mileage must have understood that their tactics may not work. Hence they have openly asked pardon from Mangaloreans during the recent monti fest celebrations.

    Congratulations! George Sequeira & Team for keeping the Konkani flag fly high at Bhayandar despite facing severe odds during Easter Celebrations this year. You have passed the testing times.
