Mumbai, Sep 15: IC Colony Church Borivli that constitutes large number of Mangalorean Konkani Catholics standing second in Mumbai diocese for the concentration of Mangaloreans celebrated Monti Fest with religious fervour..
Monti Fest in the church was celebrated under the banner of Canara Konkani Association Borivli. Fr Richard Coelho blessed the paddy corn at the entrance of the church compound and the procession was taken to the church. Fr Richard with Fr Nelson Saldanha celebrated the mass. At the end of the mass the new rice was crushed at the altar and mixed in the milk by the association president George D'Souza along with the two priests.
Cultural programme began with the melodious band by St Francis D'Assisi Orphanage children under the guidance of Fr Tony. Albert W D'Souza was the chief guest of the programme. After the band prayer dance was presented by Kezia Noronha, Michelle Simron, Ruvena and Valin. Harvest dance was presented by Veronica Noronha, Joyce D'Souza, Charles D'Cunha and Ashley. Both the dances were chorographed by Milred Noronha and Lonita.
Charles D'Cunha, Nelson, Henry D'Souza and Franky DSouza presented hilarious skit. Fr Nelson Saldanha led the prayer before the meals. Novem Jevonn was organised for the members of the association.
