Shimoga, Sep 15: Bhadravati unit of the Federation of Karnataka Christian Associations (FKCA) held a protest on Monday September 14 and submitted a memorandum to the taluk tahsildar, condemning the incident of the recent attack on St Francis De Sales Church, Hebbagodi near Bangalore.

They have pointed out that the recent reports say that fundamentalist, anti-social elements have been harassing the management of Ashirwad High School in K R Pet, Mandya district, which is being run by Christian nuns. These elements have reportedly indulged in activities like interfering with the special coaching classes for the tenth standard students, replacing the portrait of Jesus Christ with that of Mahatma Gandhi, pressurizing the management to remove the Cross from the school emblem etc. The Federation has demanded that the institutions facing problems be provided with police protection and to restrain the fundamentalist elements from undertaking destructive activities.
Through the memorandum, addressed to the Chief Minister and routed through the tahsildar, the Federation has asked Yeddyurappa to do the needful to enable the organizations and places of worship and educational institutions to function peacefully without any outside interference or disturbances.
