Mumbai, Dec 14: Winter season has arrived and IMD has predicted a stable weather condition for the financial centre of India. The city registered a 19.5-degree Celsius temperature on Friday and weather reports show no signs of a further dip.

The minimum temperature recorded by India Meteorological Department’s (IMD) Santacruz observatory was 0.9 degrees above while IMD Colaba recorded a minimum of 22 degrees, which was a degree above normal. Last year, the lowest minimum temperature recorded for the month was 14.4 degrees on December 28. The minimum temperature recorded on Friday has been the lowest for the season so far.

Shubhangi Bhute, a scientist from IMD Mumbai stated that the dip in temperature was due to north-westerly winds and early onset of the sea breeze.
