Mangaluru, Dec 10: Dakshina Kannada district in-charge minister, Kota Srinivas Poojary, stated that by March next year, 50 new buses would be added to Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) depot here. These buses include Ambari dream class, Rajhamsa, and Volvo, he added.

He was speaking after flagging off two new Ambari dream class mutli-axle air-conditioned sleeper buses which run between the city and Hyderabad. He also praised KSRTC for carving out a niche for itself in extending various facilities to passengers and providing high quality travel. He said that two more Ambari class buses would join the fleet here within a few days, and a decision about the route on which they would be introduced has not yet been taken.

Mangaluru (south) MLA Vedavyas Kamath, said that it is proposed to add more buses to the Jawaharlal Nehru National Urban Renewal Mission services operating in the city.

KSRTC divisional controller Arun, traffic controller Ismail, engineering officer Ashalata, senior unit manager Diwakar, and others were present.

The Ambari class bus service to Hyderabad now introduced is the second on Hyderabad route. It leaves the city at 3 pm and reaches Hyderabad at 8.30 am the next day. On its return journey, it leaves Hyderabad at 5 pm and reaches Mangaluru at 10 am the next day. Fare for this bus having 40 seats has been fixed at Rs 1,400, he stated.
