Mangaluru, Dec 10: Mangalore Musical and Cultural Association (MMCA), Gitanjali, Bendore, honoured parishioners Felix Frank D’Silva along with his wife Felcy Philomena D’Silva as ‘Good Samaritans’ recently.
Dr Peter Paul Saldanha, bishop of Mangaluru, conferred the honour to them by offering shawl, fruits and memento to both. This honour was given to Felix D’Silva for developing ‘Church Data and Records’ software named as ‘Flexy Free’ software and installing to more than 100 parishes of both Mangaluru and Udupi dioceses and few parishes of other dioceses of India. He has developed accounting software for churches and also some catholic institutions. He developed a special accounting software for St Joseph Seminary, Jeppu. He developed special software as per their requirements to St Antony Ashram, Jeppu, Pingara Weekly, Shanthi Kiran various requirements, Educare CODP, Brahmavar and Urwa churches, Library software for Lourdes High School Bejai, Rosario College, Rosario Cathedral, association data records software for Catholic Sabha, Mangaluru, and ICYM Mangaluru.
All these software were installed freely without any remuneration to all parishes and institutions as he has taken up this work as his mission to the diocese. His wife Felcy D’Silva was helping him and accompanying him when he use to go to various parishes for installation of software. She was instrumental and inspiration to him in developing the software.
Hence, MMCA considered to honour them for their achievements.
