Udupi, Dec 7: SELCO, a rural energy service company conducted a press meet here, on December 7 for the promotion of its technical innovations using sustainable energy.
Jagadish Pai, general manager of SELCO addressing the media said that they have been providing lighting solutions for the last 25 years through sustainable energy and since a few years they have been providing livelihood solutions through sustainable energy. "Livelihood solutions are promoted for the upliftment of micro and small entrepreneurs, economically weak, sustainable agriculture and women empowerment. SELCO has been providing technological interventions, market linkages, banking and financial inclusion support."
Guruprasad Shetty, assistant general manager of SELCO explained the working of SELCO’s technical innovations. "Traditional occupations have come to an end due to the dependency, unconventional power source and shortage of human resources. SELCO tackled these problems and has been successful.SELCO’s technical innovations will give rise to small and micro-entrepreneurs."
"SELCO has been providing pottery wheels for potters, DC blowers for blacksmiths, sewing machine for tailors, milking machine for dairy farmers, trimmer solution for barbers, fridge, printers, sugarcane, rice mill, flour mills, rope making machines, juicers etc for micro-entrepreneurs and small farmers and there are 65 sustainable products which are ready to respond to the various needs of people.
