Udupi: Adamar Math performs Battha Muhurata as preparation for Paryaya

Udupi, Dec 6: Following the tradition of Sri Krishna Math, here on the preparation of Udupi Paryaya, Dhaanya (Battha) Sangraha Muhurata was performed on December 6 under the guidance of Sri Vishwa Prasanna Teertha Swamiji at Adamar Math, in the city.

Sri Vishwa Prasanna Teertha Swamiji addressed the gathering saying, "Akki Muhurat is the first on the agenda. To cook food (Akki) we need wood and so Kattige Muhurat follows. Battha muhurata which is a collection of wheat then happens. This is kept so that in case of shortage, an adequate amount of paddy is present.



The Swamiji also greeted the gathering bestowing blessings from Sri Krishna on them and wishing that rain does not disturb the paryaya event and he also wished for the betterment and growth of the nation.

Purohit Shibaroor Vasudev Acharya, head of Adamaru Math religious practices said, "The muhurtas are related to anna daana. Today, under the guidance of Sri Vishwa Prasanna Teertha Swamiji and the blessings of Sri Krishna, Battha Muhurta was performed. Navagraha puja was performed to the lord and the puja was later performed at Anantheshwara Math, Chandramoulishwar math and Sri Krishna Math.

"Bartthada Mudi was carried on golden palanquins which was a glorifying sight," said Purohit Shibaroor Vasudev Acharya.

K Raghupathi Bhat, MLA of Udupi constituency and Dinakar Babu, president of Udupi district panchayat witnessed the Battha Muhurata and sought blessings from the almighty.
