Bengaluru, Dec 5: The central crime branch probing the KPL T20 tournament match fixing scandal reportedly has found that several players were chosen for the KPL by accepting money. This information was gathered after the arrest of Sudhendra Shinde, a former Ranji player and currently a member of Karnataka State Cricket Association's (KSCA) managing committee.

Shinde reportedly wielded his influence he gained out of his association with KSCA and selected some players for the said tournament by accepting money. Shinde has close contact with some of the cricket clubs and is said to have used his influence and money to see that some players get selected. There is information that he made sure that some were rejected.

Sources close to the probe revealed that there is likelihood of some of the players who got chosen at the recommendation of Shinde of having taken part in match fixing. The police team has asserted that as per the current probe, they have found Shinde to be the chief conspirator.

The police have also suspected that services of some actresses would have been used for the scandal. It is said that Belagavi Panthers team owner Ashfak Ali, and coach Sudhendra Shinde, used to invite certain actresses to parties hosted by them. City police commissioner Bhaskar Rao, has warned the other persons involved with the match fixing scandal to surrender to the police.

The court has entrusted Shinde to the custody of the central crime branch for four days to help investigation. The period of custody will end on December 7.
