Mangaluru, Dec 2: “To mark the birth anniversary of Padma Shri late Dr Kadri Gopalnath, a musical event 'Kadri Sangeetha Saurabha 2019' celebrating the legend will be held on Friday December 6,” informed Manikanth Kadri, son of late Dr Kadri Gopalnath.

Addressing media here on Monday December 2, Manikanth Kadri said, "Late Dr Kadri Gopalnath always had a desire to make Mangaluru a musical centre. We have decided to conduct a musical event 'Kadri Sangeetha Saurabha 2019' where country's popular singers and artistes will be invited. This will be a treat for music lovers.

“Dharmastala Dharmadikari Dr D Veerendra Heggade will inaugurate and bless the event. Office of Padmabhushan Dr T V Gopalakrishnan will also be inaugurated who is also a mentor of late Kadri Gopalnath.

“Dr Mohan Alva, chairman, Alva’s Foundation, District in-charge minister Kota Srinivas Poojary, MLAs Vedavyasa Kamath, U T Khader and Dr Bharath Y Shetty, deputy Commissioner Sindhu Rupesh and Candida Connolly, professor of Trinity College of Music, London, will grace the occasion.

“There will be special Carnatic recital by Padmabhushana Dr T V Gopalakrishnan who will be accompanied by G Ramanathan on saxophone, B Natesan in mridangam, Rajendra Nakod in tabla and Bhimachar Rajashekar in morsing,” he said.
