Mangaluru, Dec 1: The 140th annual day celebration of St Aloysius Pre-University College was held at college grounds on Saturday, November 30.
Vice chancellor of NITTE University Dr Satheesh Kumar Bhandary was the chief guest for the annual day celebration.
Addressing the gathering, Dr Satheesh Kumar Bhandary recalled his days at St Aloysius PU College and said, "The credit goes to the teachers of St Aloysius College for making my ambition fulfilled and nursing my dreams. I studied at St Aloysius College in the year 1971. I was coming from a remote area to a reputed institution like St Aloysius College. I had to switch from Kannada medium to English medium. During the initial days, I had to struggle. But it was my determination that made me work hard and able to reach where I am today. The young minds should always be determined towards reaching their goals. Work hard, convert your knowledge to wisdom and wisdom to skill that makes you excel in your career.”

Convener of college day programme Reena J Monteiro welcomed the gathering. President, student council Rabiyath Aslam rendered vote of thanks. Tulsi Patel, Rakshith N, Anusha Shetty, Melisha and Prince Rai compered the event.
Rector, St Aloysius institutions, Fr Dionysius Vaz , vice principal commerce and arts, Charlotte D’Souza, finance officer Fr Vinod Paul, vice principal Science Muralikrishna GM, PTA vice president Ishara Ahmed, secretary Azaan Ahmed and joint secretary Simona Fernandes were present among others.
