Kundapur, Nov 30: Koti Chennayya, historical heroes of past five hundred years are still relevant. Temples in their names called Garadi in the coast are identified as famous due to their historical significance. The Garadi that can be found in Yadthare, Byndoor is the last one of them.

A river flows near the Garadi situated in the vicinity of national highway. The place is surrounded by coconut trees, paddy fields and the environment that was desired by Koti Chennaya when they were living.

It is the center of several temples such as Brahma, Yakshe, Koti Chennayya, Deyi Baidethi, Mayindale, Haiguli etc. The renovation of Garadi began after asking religious priests and experts and conducting penance. Udupi zilla panchayat former president Raju Poojary chaired the renovation committee. The work is in progress.

Religious rituals were conducted in the guidance of member of state religious council, scholar Kenja Sridhar Tantri and the renovation work was held in the leadership of Madhavan Poduval. The work has reached final stage and stone carvings are over. Copper cover to the ceiling is being fixed. The shape of the garadi is unique. The tradition of garadis is upheld in the renovation. The pillars inside are made of stone. The work is marvellous. The carvings of doors are amazing. The wooden beams are huge.

The carving work on stone is being conducted in the leadership of Krishna. Wooden carvings are done in the leadership Sripathi Acharya Heradi Barkur. The work is progressing briskly in discipline. It is going to be a marvel of Byndoor.
