Udupi: Shirva-origin youth studying at San Bernardino USA, shot dead

Daijiworld Media Network - Udupi (SP)

Udupi, Nov 30: A Shirva-based youth belonging to a family that is currently living in Mysuru, and studying in USA at a place called San Bernardino in California, became victim of the anger of a hotel customer.

Abhishek (25), victim of this incident, belonged to a family from Shirva in the district.

Abhishek had opted to do his masters degree in USA after completing his engineering degree course. He had shifted there in 2018. He was a student of California state university at San Bernardino. Besides studying, he also worked as a receptionist for a hotel there.

Reports claim that Abhishek, on expiry of his scheduled log out time at the hotel, was advised to vacate his room for a customer. The customer concerned, perhaps agitated over the delay, shot at Abhishek with his revolver, killing the youngsters instantly. The incident was captured by the CCTV cameras at the hotel.

The mortal remains of Abhishek have now been kept in a hospital at San Bernardino. His father, Sudesh Chand, is a Yoga instructor at Mysuru. Abhishek has left behind his father, mother, and a brother.

Every country has it's problems! Even though, it looks yummy for from outside, it doesn't appear so; the citizens are under constant surveillance, the freedom appears only to be on paper!

Only MATERIALISTIC comforts do not bring inner happiness!

just too many people in the world. Man eats man is what we are heading to. Either using another human being for profiteering , trafficking human for gain, assaulting fellow human for sexual gratification, selling lethal weapon to build a nation. we are doing everything which is immoral and against the humanity. in 1 murder there are 2 deaths - one the life of the victim is taken and another humanity of the culprit is killed. even if a state is going to execute a lifeless body of the culprit it is not going to bring back what is called as Humanity to the society. Self awareness of an individual of who is he and what is the purpose of his human existence beyond birth , sustenance , procreation and death which is for every living creature from Amoeba to giant elephant is required.

I am familiar, with the ground realities... India and USA, are two nations, poles apart.... They are like chalk n cheese... Indians, who wish to emigrate, must firstly understand respect the ethos of that nation.... The first generation immigrants, were emotionally and culturally, alienated, from their mainstream society..... It certainly takes time and effort, to get assimilated into their society......... We Indians, cannot carry our ugly bandwagon there and wish and pray, that they tolerate and accept our irrationality.... Lakhs of student and professionals, have a successful career and are living as proud Indo Americans, never to return !!! Abhishek death, is certainly a huge tragedy !!!!! He was simply, at the wrong place and time .... That is pure destiny !!!!! RIP !!!!!!!

If India today was the real India for the citizens, then the need to go anywhere for studies or work will not exist. the corruption, communalism, and fascism in government has brought so much instability and fear of the future that, we are forced to look for better studies, work and life somewhere.

    RIP, God bless the family.

Unite against bad policies of the government.

    People,

Possession of Gun is a fundamental right in US...with reasonable restrictions like ban on anti-aircraft guns!!!...Nobody needs any license to buy guns except previously convicted people....This is main reason for violence and Crimes in US...

No matter how heinous Gun Violence is...Americans don't want to loose their right to own guns...

This is nothing to do with being Indian...many students including Indian students work in Motels and Gas Stations to earn some money while studying ....so become easy prey to this type of Violence...

We have American Rifle Association in US....more powerful than RSS in India which support Gun lobby....Nobody can win US elections without their support...

So these incidents occur frequently...People learn to live with it unfortunately...

    ...Tak...Takk...

The problem is Indians aren't exposed to gun culture and so they think they can get away with arguing with some Americans anyhow.... esp. when dealing with young black or Hispanic/latino men...many of them are affiliated to gangs that deal in drug trafficking etc and indians should never, ever have any kinds of arguments with them as many of them come from single parent families and probably don't even know who their real father is, and hence are exposed to drugs at an early age so it is more likely these kind of men will have a short fuse and cannot keep their anger/temper in check and will retaliate with shooting even for the slightest disagreement...

That is why many indian grocery store owners in US,or South Africa for example, get shot simply because they refused to give them the cash that the mugger wanted..spare the life and give them the cash or whatever..
