Udupi, Nov 27: A student, who tried to outsmart the invigilator in the examination hall, by trying to copy through his smart watch during the examination, was caught. This incident occurred in a reputed engineering college of Manipal near here.

The student was immediately debarred from writing the examination and sent out of the examination hall. The smart watch had the option of downloading the whole text book. In addition all the programmes, formulae and certain answers can be stored in its memory card. The option of zooming is also available.

The identity of the student, who was caught during this daring act, has been kept confidential as of now. However, the functioning of the smart watch is going viral on social media.

Reacting on the incident, Raj Shetty, an alumnus of the same college said, "The student knew that CCTV is installed in all the examination halls. In spite of that, the concerned student tried to be over smart. Those who have to study hard and involve themselves in inventions, should not do cheap acts of this nature. One should learn on his or her own and achieve something in life."

The college sources said that enquiry will be conducted by the institution and there will be a three-phase punishment for such illegal act.
