Dubai, Nov 27: An Indian ex-pat, devoid of bad habits and absolutely no signs of any heart ailment or any other disease, died in his sleep on the morning of Sunday at his company accommodation at Al Ghusais.

Friends of Sandhij A S (24), who was fondly called as Appu, are in shock as they cannot digest the fact that a keen footballer like him died in his sleep. According to one of his roommates, Sandhij cooked the dinner for all of them and also fried fish. Also, he sang songs with his friends and was in a jolly mood. Shafi Abdul Kareem, one of deceased Sandhij's roommate says that he cannot believe that Sandhij is no more.

But the colleagues and friends are saying that this must be hereditary as his father also died at a young age, but the surprise is that Sandhij did not show any signs of heart-related ailment during his lifetime.

According to his roommates, they all went to bed at around 1 am and at about 3.30 am the roommates woke up as they heard some noise. To their utter shock, Sandhij was lying on one side and shivering badly. His mouth was full of froth and he was not able to respond when they tried to speak to him.

Sandhij's friends could not make out that he was having a heart attack as they thought it is an epilepsy episode. When they called the emergency, the nurse asked them to compress his chest till they reach their accommodation, but Sandhij gasped for breath and collapsed during his third deep inhalation. Though, he was rushed by the paramedics within a short time after he collapsed, he could not be saved.
