Mangaluru, Nov 27: White Doves, the well-known NGO, is ready to spread the spirit and joy of the festive season with its popular mobile acts in Mangaluru, Bantwal and Karkala. The 25th mobile act on the life of St Mark ‘Naanu Ninnavane’, written by Bannu Fernandes will be presented from November 29 to December 1, informed founder and president of White Doves, Corrine Rasquinha.
Addressing media here on Wednesday, November 27, Corrine said, “The mobile act is titled '2019-Year-Old Fact in a Mobile Act'. The shows will be held on November 29 at Gandhi Maidan Karkala, November 30 at Modankap Infant Jesus Church grounds and the grand final show on December 1 at Nehru Maidan Mangaluru.
“'The show will have 125 artistes performing on trailer trucks set into stages. There will be 10 stages totaling 240 feet. The artistes comprise of people of all ages and walks of life. This has been the unique and one-of-its-kind shows that Mangaluru has seen.
"This is the 25th year of the performances and White Doves have performed over 300 such shows in and around Mangalore, Kumble and Kasargod in Kerala. The shows in the past years were held at Beltangady, Bantwal, Kundapur, Moodbidiri, Shirva, Kadaba, Suratkal and Farangipete which had drawn huge crowds. This year will be the last of these shows which will be held from November 29 to December 1.
“White Doves also celebrates its 25 years of service to the downtrodden. It has rehabilitated over 600 destitute picked up from the streets of Mangaluru and have reunited 389 destitute with their families after treatment all over India including Nepal and Bangladesh,” she said.
Vitus Rasquinha, trustee of White Doves, Jerald Fernandes, manager, White doves, and writer Bannu Fernandes were also present.
