Udupi: Omni car carrying children overturns - All safe with minor injuries

Udupi, Nov 25: A Maruti Omni car, carrying school children, overturned here on Monday, November 25. All the occupants of the car are safe with minor injuries. 

The driver named Srikanth was driving the car. It overturned suddenly at Karantha Kalagrama in Alevoor here. 

Sources said that the car carried more children than the permissible limit.

 

The reason for the sudden accident is not known.

    Parents should never opt for omni for pickup and drops of their children..isnot safe

    These private school vans are driven rashly, even they drive in the wrong side of the road.

    Main reason is there is pressure on the drivers to pickup many children from different locations and reach the school on time.

    Even if there are school buses or parents themselves can drop their children to school, many parents go for this option because either it is cheap or convenient to them.

    Safety is given the least priority. Remember we can afford to lose other material things in life as we can get it back somehow, but if we loose life then we cannot get it back.

    One factor is high speed along with sharp turning of the vehicle with smaller wheelbase

    My dear traffic police ! few years back there was gusty similar accident with the same vehicle and so many children lost their life ! Please ban this vehicle from the road at least mercy on those children as they are very very innocent to this world and you cruel people dont have right to take their life because of few rupees savings !!

    Sad ,,Thank God nothing happened to the kids , God saves children.
    So many times it said that the Omani vans should be banned from carrying school kids & also abu,lance .This vechile is not safe . But unfortunate the parents don't understand the risk. We are putting our kids in risk by transporting in these vehicles .
    The RTO & Police should combined & ban bring order from the court these vehicles to transport school kids

    Lucky that no child was hurt. My heart pains whenever I see an accident becuase i trust that most accidents can be prevented by adequate precautions.
