Mysuru, Nov 24: "Certain vested interests are trying to get political mileage out of the attack on MLA Tanveer Sait," complained Abdul Majid, national chief secretary of SDPI.
Abdul Majid was speaking at a press conference in the city. He further said, "The police have taken seven people in their custody, conducted inquiry and have kept five people in judicial custody. The main accused is kept in police custody. Though the investigation report of police is still not made public, certain vested interests are trying to put the blame on SDPI for the attack on MLA Tanveer Sait. Thereby they are trying to mislead the investigation of the police."

"Let the culprits be punished. But it is grave crime to punish innocents. We will conduct legal fight against this," added Abdul Majid.
Illyas Mohammed Thumbay, state president of SDPI said, "Are the activists of Congress, JD(S) and BJP are not conducting criminal activities? Why only we are being connected with incidents like this? It is true that two of the arrested are our activists. But is any investigation conducted on the fact that Tanveer Sait had got threat call from underworld don Ravi Poojary?"
