Mangaluru, Nov 23: Padua Educational Institutions celebrated platinum jubilee in the form of ‘Guru Vandana’ here at Padua auditorium on Saturday, November 23.
Addressing the gathering, Philomena Lobo, retired director of higher education, said," Padua College is always remembered for its discipline and guidance. The teachers in Padua College, along with providing students with good facilities, have the patience to correct students and guide them in the right path.”
Fr Anthony Shera, secretary, Catholic Board of Education Mangaluru diocese, said, "It is our responsibility to honour our teachers who taught us. They are one who guided us and showed the right path. If we respect our elders, then younger ones will definitely respect us. Because of the teaching and guidance of our teachers, we have been able to succeed in our lives.”
Meanwhile, teaching, non-teaching staff and alumni, who have achieved in their respective professions was felicitated.
Denis Lobo, president of Alumni Association welcomed the gathering, Herald Monterio rendered the vote of thanks, and Olivia Fernandes compered the programme.
