Mangaluru, Nov 22: India’s strong commitment to international pacts is getting translated in quicker response of its refining sector to the needs of eco-friendly fuels. When some of the developed nations are showing slack attitude towards environmental obligation, Indian refineries are gearing up to the era of eco-friendly fuels of BS VI grade.
Costal Karnataka’s Mangalore Refinery and Petrochemicals Ltd (MRPL) has ushered an era of eco-friendly fuels by shifting to BS VI regime much in advance to the target date of April 1 in 2020.
MRPL accomplished this on 17 November as the ship “MT. Kamome Victoria’ carried 62,000 metric tons of BS VI grade diesel to Malaysia. The buyer of the parcel was Vitol Asia Pvt Ltd from Singapore.
With the stringent specification, the BSVI grade fuels are expected to make significant contribution to the environment.

Eco-friendly fuel from MRPL will start producing its positive impact not just in foreign destinations like Malaysia and Singapore but in the coming days it will unleash them all across Karnataka and parts of south India.
