Bengaluru, Nov 19: After the conductor of a moving KSRTC bus pushed a girl student of a PU college in the city out of the door, she suffered injuries and lost a tooth. The objection put forth by the conductor was that student passes were not allowed in that bus. The injured girl happens to be Bhoomika, a first year PU student of Jyothi Kendriya Vidyala, Yelachenahalli.
The girl had boarded the KSRTC bus to Kanakapura at 3 pm on November 11. When the conductor tried to issue her a ticket, she said she was in possession of student pass. The conductor asked her to get down, as such passes were not allowed in that bus. He refused to allow her to travel till the next stop to get down, and pushed her when the bus was on the move. Bhoomika, whose face banged against the ground, suffered injuries on her forehead and left knee besides losing a tooth.

Those who saw her bleeding, took her to hospital. She later filed complaint in Konanakunte police station, accusing Shivashankar, conductor, attached to Harohalli depot, of causing injuries intentionally. The police booked Shivashankar for crimes under section 325 of Indian Penal Code.
Bhoomika's mother, Shivaratna, said her daughter was travelling over a 100 km every day to be able to study in a good college. She accused conductors of refusing students to travel by their buses as their collections get hit. She said that the bus staff did not care to stop even after knowing that the student was injured. She termed her daughter as lucky to survive he scare created by a city bus which was closely following, but its driver applied brakes before it could crush the fallen student.
KSRTC managing director Shivayogi, condemned the behaviour of his staff. He said that the bus concerned was long distance one in which passes are not allowed. He said that the conductor has been suspended from service and that in addition to ongoing investigation by the police, a departmental inquiry has been initiated.
