Mysuru, Nov 18: A youth attacked former Karnataka Congress minister and Narasimharaja MLA Tanveer Sait on the late night of Sunday, November 17.
Farhaan (20) from Udayagiri is the youth who attacked the politician.
The attack took place during a private event at Banni Mantap around 11.40 pm, as per initial reports.
Mysuru police commissioner K T Balakrishna informed that Sait suffered injuries near his neck and was undergoing operation at a private hospital.

Bleeding Sait walked to a vehicle that took him subsequently to the hospital which is situated one kilometer away from the spot of the attack.
Sait's supporters caught the youth and thrashed him before handing over to the police.
As soon as the news spread, thousands of people gathered around the hospital. Security has been enhanced around the hospital.
The motive behind the attack is not known. The police are interrogating the youth.
The injury is said to be major.
Police said Sait was attending a wedding ceremony.
