Ballari, Nov 16: BJP workers turned violent and expressed their anguish against former minister Anand Singh, who has joined BJP from the Congress party and made the candidate for the upcoming by-election. This incident occurred at the BJP city office at Hospet.
The workers openly expressed their unhappiness over Anand Singh's candidature in the presence of state BJP chief secretary, Vijayanagara assembly constituency in-charge Ravi Kumar and MP Devendrappa, who were in a meeting that was called to discuss preparations for the by-elections.
As Ravi Kumar began his speech, some of the BJP workers shouted, "What ideology Anand Singh, who has said, "Modi Chor, BJP communal" has got? On what basis you have given party ticket to him? It is not right to neglect people who have been adhering to the ideology of BJP from years and have worked from general worker level."
As the commotion of the BJP workers was going beyond the control of the leaders, they asked the Media to go out of the auditorium saying that internal discussions of party matters is taking place. However, the protesting BJP workers asked the media to stay behind and record everything and convey the same to the senior leaders of the party. At the end, not able to handle the vociferous party workers, Ravi Kumar, MP Y Devendrappa and district president Chennabasavana Gowda walked out of the meeting.
