Udupi, Nov 16: Yoga Guru Baba Ramdev's mega five-day yoga camp was inaugurated at Car Street, Sri Krishna Math, in the city on Saturday, November 16.
Baba Ramdev and Sri Vidyadheesha Theertha of Paryaya Palimaru Math lit the lamp and inaugurated the event.
Addressing the gathering Baba Ramdev said, “Yoga keeps our looks young. Sri Vidyadheesha Theertha swamiji is serving without any expectations. Yoga message is spread all over the world now and is practised in USA, Australia and other countries.”
Speaking about the importance of Tulsi leaves, Baba Ramdev said, “Tulsi leaves have immunity power. Hence, if people keep Tulsi leaves on the rear of mobile phone, it will reduce radiation. If we did it, we can prevent impact of radiation.
“Tulsi leaves can protect humans from radiation effects. As Tulsi is herbal plant, it prevents impact from electronic accessories or products, which release ultra violet rays. Let all plant Tulsi saplings at housea nd working area as it has the power to protect one from negative energy around you.
“Any radiation will make us weak. When we keep Tulsi leaves with us, it will boost our energy to fight against evil (negative) things,” he said.
Sri Vidhyaadheesha Theertha swamiji in his address said, “Yoga and Pranayama is necessary for all regardless of caste, creed and gender. It is open for all age groups. Those who want to live a long healthy life and sound body should participate in this. All people should get the benefits yoga in five days. Let us make good use of this camp. Once we start doing yoga, we should not give up. We should celebrate it every day. If there is sound mind, we can get a sound body.”
Large number of people from all age groups is participating in the yoga camp.
Udupi MLA Raghupathi Bhat, DC G Jagadeesha, BJP secretary Yashpal Suvarna and all yoga committee members and yoga associated members were present.
Trainers are appointed for teaching asanas for the campers.
Baba Ramdev described the benefits of Yoga. He performed different Asanas (poses) like Pranayama, Kapalabathi, Markata, Shalabhasana, Bhujangasana, Pavana mukta, Gomuka asana, Shastanga namaskar, Surya Namaskara and other types of poses in yoga.
Yoga will be held every day for five days for two and half hours from 5 am to 7.30 am.
