Sullia, Nov 15: Sullia police have registered a case against bike rider for having hit the bike to a pedestrian and causing his death. The mother of the rider is also named as accused in the case.
The bike with registration number KA21 Y6295 had hit Chaniappa Naika (67) who was standing beside the road near Adkar Bhajana Mandira, Jalsur village on November 13 at 7 pm. Chaniappa Naika was severely injured in the accident. He was undergoing treatment in Sullia government hospital but he died without responding to treatment. A case in this connection was registered on November 14.
As bike rider Deekshit did not have a driving licence, his mother Sunitha, who gave the bike to her son for riding and in whose name the vehicle was registered, has been made an accused in the case registered in Sullia police station.
