Bengaluru, Nov 12: "Chief Minister (CM) B S Yediyurappa is the only specialist in operations and surgeries. I am not a doctor. I do not know any patients," said former CM and leader of opposition Siddaramaiah, ridiculing the chief minister.
Siddaramaiah has made a series of tweets on his Twitter account. He has further tweeted, "If we bring people of other political parties to our party by offering them money and position, then it becomes an 'Operation'. However, if they accept the ideology of our party and join the party it cannot be termed as 'Operation'. CM Yediyurappa is the specialist in these kinds of operations and surgeries. I am neither a doctor nor I know any patients."
Replying to the statement of former PM and JD (S) supremo H D Deve Gowda that Kumaraswamy was made as the CM of the coalition government by Siddaramaiah in order to avoid giving the chief minister position to Mallikarjun Kharge of Congress, Siddaramaiah tweeted, "Congress high command had instructed to get into alliance with JD (S) with the sole intention of keeping communal BJP out of power. I have just followed the orders of the high command. My role was restricted to that extent. Deve Gowda is the person who discussed with Congress high command about the formation of the coalition government. I have not made any one miss the chief ministership of the state."
Taunting the statement of BJP minister C T Ravi that some more Congress MLAs are going to join BJP, Siddaramaiah tweeted, "It seems minister C T Ravi has said that some more MLAs from Congress and JD (S) will join BJP after the by polls. First let them stop those who are deserting BJP, then speak about our MLAs defecting to their party. I am sick of hearing these kind of words repeatedly in 40 years of my political life."
With regards to Operation Lotus by BJP, Siddaramaiah tweeted, "BJP has got lots of money. In order to assume power they conduct Operation Lotus as well as indulge in unethical politics. They do not have an ounce of respect towards the constitution and democracy of our country. BJP is known for back-door politics. We are collecting opinion of party workers and local leaders for electing suitable Congress candidates for the remaining seven legislative constituencies. Then discussion will be held with party high command and final list of candidates will be released. Our aim is to win in at least 12 seats. One should not get surprised even if we win all the 15 seats."
