Byndoor, Nov 11: One of the members of Durgambika Seva Sangh located at Kotemane, Byndoor - Shirur, had filed a private complaint in the court, accusing office bearers of the Sangh of printing fake receipt books, collecting donations running into lacs of rupees and cheating the people. On the basis of private complaint made by Ramakrishna Achar from Shirur, Alvegadde, to the court, a case has been registered in the police station here.
As per the complaint, president of the Sangh, Vital N Mesta, and a number of committee members got fake receipt books printed in the name of Sri Durgambika Seva Sangh (Regd), Charodi, Mesta Samaj, and collected money from the general public and members of the Sangh fraudulently.
The Sangh is involved with good social service initiatives since several years but the accused have eroded its credibility, the complainant had stated.
Byndoor police are investigating the allegations.
