Chikkamagaluru, Nov 11: Karnataka state BJP president and MP Nalin Kumar Kateel, dismissed the general notion that there is bitter animosity and disagreement between him and chief minister, B S Yediyurappa. "I run the party while he manages the government," he clarified.
Addressing a press conference here on Sunday, November 10, Kateel said that the party does not interfere with the affairs of the government at any cost. "We are like members of the same family, and are looking after our own sets of duties and responsibilities. Yediyurappa is senior and more experienced. For any issue we hold discussions and decide on the course of action. Even when it is not possible to meet one another, we discuss on phone and arrive at a consensus," he explained.
When questioned about Kagwad BJP leader and ticket aspirant, Raju Kage, meeting D K Shivakumar, said that there is no need to attach any significance to the meeting. "Possibly there may be personal issues. Personal issues and principles can be different. For example, I and Janardhan Poojary share a good rapport since many years and we also meet one another. He is my Guru, but he never crossed over to my party, and I have not gone to the Congress. Just because someone meets another person, there is no need to attribute ill intentions," he felt.
He welcomed the fact that people of all faiths, religions and classes of people have peacefully accepted the Ayodhya verdict. He felt that the wind of transformation is blowing through the nation.
