Puttur, Nov 11: A 28-year-old teacher has accused the headmaster of the school of having raped her. The complaint was filed in Uppinangady police station about seven months after the alleged rape.
The complainant has named the accused as Manjunath (41), headmaster of the government primary school at Padmunja in Beltangady taluk.
The complainant worked as a guest teacher. She said that Manjunath promised to see that her job in government school would be made permanent. She also claimed that the rape happened on April 14 this year inside the said school. "I had become fearful of the incident and therefore did not complain then," she stated in the complaint.
The police got the woman subjected to medical tests in the district hospital at Mangaluru. They said that based on the test report, they will take further action.
The said teacher's services were terminated for the reason that her teaching style was not good enough. In her place, another lady teacher had been given employment sometime back.
