Kundapur, Nov 9: Cattle thieves are getting more brazen. A CCTV camera has captured a shocking theft, where miscreants are seen stealing cattle sleeping on the road in front of Molahalli gram panchayat using an Innova car.

The incident that happened on Friday shows a black or dark blue coloured Innova stopping in front of the sleeping cattle in Mohalli, late in the night. Two people get down and push a cow into the dickie of the car. The car goes a little further but returns. The miscreants steal two other cattle, which are pushed into the vehicle one after another.

Police have verified that CCTV footage but no arrests are made so far. The owner of the cattle has not registered the complaint yet.

Cattle theft cases are on a rise since the last few months. Recently, cattle sleeping on a road near Petrol pump in Gulvadi were stolen in a similar manner.

Locals have urged the police to find the miscreants and take strict action against them.

    I feel here not only cattle is sleeping on roads but police too are not awake.Owners of cows too are negligent.Why should only cattle owners complaint to the theft?

    Only after that police will take action?They should be active as soon as they see theft is taken place.Owners should be also given notice not to let cows sleep on public roads.It is a provokation to theft-Roads are for normal traffic ,not for cattle meant.People take care of their children not allowing to sleep on roads,so same way care for your cows too not enough to do puja but give them water and eat.then they willl return to house.CAtch thieves

    Kundpaur was such a nice place with peaceful loving people But of late so many thefts happening in that area SO many bad elements in society have emerged there Nowadays something that happend People doing illegal liquor business and thefts etc are on the rise I feel social workers in the area must work hard towards harmony and honesty in this area

    Give fodder to cattle.
    Do not give fodder to cattle theives
    Be responsible for your cattle by having your own shed to lay at night...not on the road
    When ppl are responsible for their personal belongings in public places why cant they be responsible for their own cattle at night.

    Shamsuddin, are u justifying the fine art of stealing ??? they are pilfering cattle, with no sense of fear, nor guilt !!! Tomorrow they will brazenly enter houses, residence, rape, loot and scoot away to glory !!!! North and South Kanara, was an oasis of peace, tranquility, just a decade ago..... today it has become infested with dangerous criminals !!!!

    Why don't concerned authorities/organizations take care of such abandoned or stray cows in Cow sheds meant for the purpose. ?
    Cow lifting has become an hobby or profession for some people. Police needs to catch the culprits and
    take appropriate action and warning.

    The law should penalise and punish all such cattle
    owners who leave their cattle on the road side at
    nights, or during the day to graze on garbage, etc,
    A penal law should be established to contain this
    nuisance - they endanger traffic, mess up footpaths,
    and even cause to be stolen.

    We have such stray cows everyday on the footpaths
    messing the area with cowdung, and even the law
    sees them, but does nothing about it nor to the owners.

    If the cattle owners care for their cattle and keep
    them at their home or in their home or compounds,
    no theft can take place.

    Cattle owners, must realise that there are wolves prowling all over, to steal their precious cattle, due to exorbitant rise in demand, due to rampant demographic growth, in the entire district. This disgusting scenario, never occurred, a few decades ago.... These acts are provoking communal disharmony n peace. Stringent, draconian laws, is the need of the hour, to control these marauding criminals !!!!!!

    Along with the thieves catch the culprits who abandon Gau matha on the roads. Matha needs a place to sleep in the night. On the roads Matha is a danger to herself and the unsuspecting traffic
