Mangaluru, Nov 9: Mangalore Institute of Oncology (MIO) in association with Rotary club of Mangalore Sunrise observed 'Breast Cancer Awarness’ programme here at Mangalore institute of Oncology on Saturday, November 9.
Assistant governor of Rotary club, Geethananda Pai inaugurated the programme.
Addressing the gathering, Geethananda Pai said, "I congratulate MIO for conducting this breast awareness programme as prevention is better than cure and should take all types of preventive measures.”
Director MIO Dr D Suresh Rao said, "We need to detect the cancer and chances of cure early. We should know the symptoms early to detect the cancer. Do not neglect self-examination after age 45 and know the symptoms.”
Eulalia D’Souza compered the programme and welcomed the gathering.
Consultant surgical oncology Dr Jalalludin Akbar, director, MIO Prathima M Rao and Kadri Manohar were also present.
