Bengaluru: Government to ban bars and liquor outlets named after deities

Daijiworld Media Network – Bengaluru (EP)

Bengaluru, Nov 7: The state government is contemplating of banning bars and liquor sales outlets from naming them after religious deities.

Muzrai minister Kota Srinivas Poojary has directed to obtain the opinion of legal experts to remove the names of deities from the name boards of liquor outlets.

“Several bars or liquor sales outlets are named as Maha Ganapathi, Raghavendra, Manjunath, Venkateshwara etc. It hurts religious sentiments and insults the deities. The department therefore is thinking to ban from giving names of deities and to remove the current names by an amendment to law,” he said.

Kota Srinivas Poojary said that he has asked officials to discuss with the department of law about ways to remove such names. “The way to proceed is not decided yet. I opine that it is not right to give the names of deities to bars. We will bring an amendment to the Act if we receive support from people. I will hold discussions with officials in this connection,” he said.

Good decission finally. But when the relegious YAATRAS will moove without DJs. We can see some drunkard people dancing to the high sound music in relegious celebrations.
When people try to introspect about what actually relegion is then all that anti social human habits like alchohol, fornication, gambling, excessive liberalism will automatically go away. But in indian context even the liquor shop owners can argue in supreme court that they have right to practice their faith while doing the business .

What’s the problem if bar owners prefer to name their business establishments after deities? Perhaps it is their belief that naming after deity will bring good fortune. Otherwise why would they name such type of businesses after deities?

The drunkard is never bothered of all these formalities.
He never smile nor talk to the cashier.
Give the money (prepaid) and in return he gets quarter.
Slowly open the lid and add all the contents to the glass.
Add little water.Spill little water on the table.
Now take the glass slowly to the mouth.
His eyes to the sky .
    Take a deep breath
Empty the contents with one neat stretch.
And bring the glass down slowly.
Hold the wall and slowly walk away.

People don't give preference to bars named after Gods to drink. They will go to drink alcohol irrespective of name given to shop even if it has Satan's name. Putting ban is a silly issue which will not make any difference on how drunkards think. Selling alcohol is also a business, the owner would have invested so much, so he has the right to name the shop as he pleases.
