Mangaluru: No vehicular movement on Gurpur Bridge on November 7

Mangaluru, Nov 7: Urgent repairs are being undertaken for Gurpur Bridge which is located on national highway 169, on Thursday November 7. 

A release from the office of the deputy commissioner of Dakshina Kannada district said that movement of vehicles on this bridge has been banned from 6 am to 6 pm on November 7 during which period repair work is being undertaken. 

The vehicles have to take Kaikamba-Bajpe-Maravoor route when coming to the city from Moodbidri or via Kaikamba - Polali and B C Road. Vehicles going towards Moodbidri have to take Maravoor bridge-Bajpe-Kaikamba and Moodbidri, the release stated.

Taking into account the wretched state of the bridge and connecting road, the people are doubtful about the effectiveness of the repair that is conducted in a hurried manner within a day.

    just 1 day work 2 repair this bridge. what is the bjp management thinking. how many crores of rupees are used for this 1 day. and what work can be done in a day. public people please think about this and who will pay for it.

    There might be small inconvenience to public, but atleast some progress is happening of Gurpur is happening. Once the bridge is ready, Mangalore to Karkala via Moodbidre 4 laning work will take place.

    Keep dreaming about 4 lane road to Karkala-Moodabidri-Mangalore... may be it will happen in 2050.... Survey for the same has been going for last 10 years.....!!
