Dubai, Nov 6: As part of Majid Al Futtaim's announcement to launch a plastic-free future, the retail conglomerate has now decided to gift lucky UAE residents a Nol card with Dh 25 credit if they recycle 50 plastic bottles.
The company will provide a recycling machine as a pilot project for the creation of a circular economy and efforts to minimise its footprint on the environment.
Chief Sustainability Officer of Majid Al Futtaim - Holding Ibrahim Al-Zu'bi said, "The pilot was launched in MAF's partnership with Roads and Transport Authority (RTA), and was inaugurated by Dr Thani bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi, Minister for Climate Change and Environment, on November 5," as quoted by Khaleej Times.
The Nol cards will be gifted to the first 500 customers who come forward with 50 plastic bottles. "Based on the success of the pilot, the programme will eventually be linked to MAF's loyalty programme, Share, where customers will get points for recycling efforts," explained Zu'bi, as reported in Khaleej Times.
