Mangaluru, Nov 5: National spokesperson of AICC Jaiveer Shergill demanded resignation of union finance minister Nirmala Sitharaman and asked her to start doing internship with former Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh, who treated Indian economy like a doctor.
Addressing media here on Tuesday November 5, Jaiveer Shergill said, "Former Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh treated Indian economy like a doctor, while BJP are treating it like a circus. Hence they are creating circus everywhere. We need to wake up BJP from a deep sleep as our country is facing severe economic crisis. Indian National Congress will be initiating All India agitation to wake up BJP Kumbakaran government, to expose the indifference, unprepared approach towards economy,”
"BJP took charge for the second term on May 30. Since then they are in the celebration and campaigning mode, but refused to be in work mode. BJP is the chief architect of economic disaster and the master of headline management. The global unemployment percentage is 4.1%, while national unemployment is 8.5 % as of August,” he added.
“BJP has the formula to revive the economy but they share formulas only with their sons and daughters. BJP people are busy selling the propaganda of Article 370, while common man is worried about the price of petrol which is above Rs 70. The agricultural situation is even worse. During the verge of elections, BJP promises to double the economy for which agricultural growth rate has to be 12%. But at present it is not even 1%. BJP's contribution to agricultural community is ‘zero income and rise in farmers’ suicide,” he said.
“BJP is the villain of Indian economy who is adamant and destroys our economy. BJP leaders are judging the Indian economy by increasing their own wealth. We demand BJP to release white paper of Indian economy and on steps taken to revive the economy, finance minister’s resignation and declaration of national financial emergency.” he concluded.
Former minister Ramanath Rai, MLA U T Khader, former MLA Mohiuddin Bava, Abhayachandra Jain, District Youth Congress president Mithun Rai, media coordinator Lavanya Ballal and others were present.
