Mangaluru, Nov 5: Senior Congress leader B Janardhana Poojary said, "District Congress president Harish Kumar did not take any suggestions from me regarding the candidate selection for MCC elections.”
Janardhana Poojary’s reply came in wake of the statement of Harish Kumar during his press conference that candidates were selected for MCC elections after taking suggestions and consulting senior leaders of Congress including Poojary.
Addressing media here on Tuesday November 5, Poojary said, "District Congress president Harish Kumar never took suggestion or consulted me for candidate selection. He should not lie as Congress never taught us to lie. I am deeply hurt by it. I know what I should do. By evening Harish Kumar should apologise for his statement or else I know what has to be done. I will not spare him till I am alive.”
When asked about attack on former MLA Mohiudeen Bava, Poojary said, "It is wrong to assault anyone.”
When asked about Siddaramaiah’s leadership and his appointment as opposition leader, Poojary said, "Siddaramaiah is a curse for Congress party and he will destroy the party. This is a mistake from the high command.”
When asked about false death news about him in social media, Poojary said, "If those who spread such rumors get satisfaction, let them do it. I will not stop them.”
When asked about upcoming elections, Poojary said, "Congress wants BJP to come to power, so BJP will win.”
Harish Kumar responds
Responding to Janardhana Poojary's allegations, district Congress committee president Harish Kumar said, "I have not committed any mistake. I will have a discussion with him and know my mistake. If I have committed any mistake, I will apologize. I have spoken to him over phone. There are some internal party matters which cannot be shared with media and public.
