Kaup, Nov 5: A woman named Saraswati (20) has filed complaint in the police station here, alleging that Soumya from Udyavar, who had hired her, had attacked her with a wooden stick. Soumya resides near Lord Ganapathi temple in Udyavar.
The injured Saraswati has been admitted into the government hospital at Ajjarkadu. A case stands lodged in Kaup police station in this connection.
Reportedly, Saraswati had begun to work at the residence of Soumya three months back. Since the very beginning, it is said, she faced physical violence. On Monday morning, accusing her of losing the key of the house, Saraswati was given a thorough tongue lashing by her employer, and hit with wooden stick, it is said. Saraswati tolerated all these torture.
When Saraswati visited a nearby shop sometime later, some locals who saw wounds on her body, informed the Kaup police. The police arrived on the spot, noticed swelling and injuries all over Saraswati's body including her face, admitted her into hospital and registered a case.
Soumya also is from Gokarna in Uttara Kannada district. It is said that her husband works somewhere in north India. Allegedly, Saraswati was not paid any salary since she began to work here.
